Goodyear Eagle F1 and Excellence recognized as best choice in rainy weather

Goodyear continues to strengthen leadership in the ultra-high-performance tire market with recent accolades for the Eagle F1 and Excellence tires. Featuring patented Goodyear technology, both tires have been earning the nod of experts as the best choice for wet weather.

Tech and Tuner Magazine hailed the Eagle F1 for its excellent performance in both wet and dry conditions. Following a test drive, the magazine noted how the Eagle F1 gave a feeling of very good grip.It adds: Braking felt very good, almost like a dry stop.Standing starts were also planted and controllable, while feel in the slalom was excellent.

The Eagle F1 also won praise after gaining a perfect score in slalom during a test for Australias Wheels magazine. The tire ranked 2nd overall.Similarly, the US automotive magazine Car & Driver and Europes Eurotuner also cited the Eagle F1 for superior performance in independent wet and dry tire tests.Other recognitions have come from Auto Express, Auto Zeitung, Sport Auto Magazine, Auto Bild and the British magazine EVO.

Meanwhile, the Chinese magazine Car Owners rated Goodyear Excellence as the best performing tire in the wet, edging out its counterparts from other brands.

Three critical technologies make the Eagle F1 a superior tire. Its Extreme V-TREDTM Design allows superior wet traction and a quiet, comfortable ride. The OneTREDTM Design creates sweeping grooves to prevent aquaplaning, meaning the Eagle F1 footprint always has at least two open channels from the leading edge to the trailing edge for maximum water clearance. The third technology, AquaSILTM Tread Compound enables enhanced grip, traction and braking. This silica-based tread compound is considered a great innovation in race tire engineering. The weather-reactive compound gives drivers added confidence when cornering and braking.

The 3-Zone Technology featured in the new Goodyear Excellence tire is a breakthrough for the companys division of tire zone functions concept. While most conventional tires usually have three different zones, Goodyear Excellence combined them to address the need for better handling, comfort and security.

According to Goodyear Philippines President and Managing Director David Morin, both Goodyear Eagle F1 and Excellence are prime examples of the companys commitment to innovation.? These tires not only meet market needs but more importantly, they make a safe journey possible for the driving and riding public, he said.
